Shipping and Returns Policy

Average shipping rates are based on item size and destination within the continental US. You will be charged a 15$ -$25

handling fee for shipping within the continental US.  If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, you may be contacted regarding additional shipping fees, because, unfortunately, it costs a lot more to get packages to you. Thank you for understanding.

Shipments are via USPS and always insured. Items will ship within 1-2 days of being ordered. If your item fails to arrive due to an issue with USPS and not the fault of Michi Pottery, please file a claim at: https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm

Michi Pottery does not file claims with USPS on behalf of the buyer.

Local pick up and delivery is available and encouraged, especially for the more fragile knit porcelain pieces. Items can be delivered to a convenient in-town or near town location, free of charge, or you can pick your item(s) up at Michi Pottery.

Michi Pottery is an environmentally conscious studio that makes every reasonable effort to use recycled and/or environmentally friendly shipping materials. Please recycle or reuse these materials when possible.

Returns/Exchanges

Returns or exchanges through the mail are not accepted. Thank you for understanding.

If you live in the region of Michi Pottery and you bought a piece at an in-person sale, please contact Michelle within 48 hours of your purchase to discuss.

Please read item descriptions and view all images before checking out. Flaws that affect the aesthetics or functionality of the piece will be mentioned in the listing. It is the responsibility of the customer to read these item descriptions carefully. Colors of pottery may appear different based upon the lighting and composition of your device's screen and the lighting under which the piece was photographed (pieces are photographed using natural lighting, inside, by a window.)

Package Theft

Mail theft upon delivery will not be refunded. Please be vigilant about receiving your package. If you wish to require a signature for delivery, please email Michelle before your package ships.  To file a claim with the USPS, visit: https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm

Breakage during shipping

Some of the pieces offered are very fragile. You are encouraged to make arrangements to pick up or receive free delivery if you live within the Michi Pottery region, especially for the more fragile pieces. If this is not convenient, every possible effort will be made to ship your piece without breakage, however, please understand that once it leaves the studio it is no longer in the hands of Michi Pottery and things happen.

If your piece arrives damaged, in order to receive a full refund:

-Contact Michi Pottery within 24 hours of receiving the item.

-Provide the order number

-Provide a photograph of the broken item

No refunds will be provided in the event of

human error or accidents incurred while in use/possession.

All pottery on the Michi Pottery website is made by Michelle Herringer. Pieces are hand-built, thrown on the wheel, or knit, dipped, and formed; in some cases all three of these methods are used. Because everything is made by hand, there will be small variations from piece to piece and signs that the piece was made by a person, not a machine. Flaws in the aesthetics will be listed in the description of the item. ​
