Welcome to Michi Pottery.
I create wheel thrown and hand-built functional porcelain pieces finished with colorful imagery using a carving and slip inlay technique (known as Mishima).
Michi Pottery creations are intended to mirror our connection to the planet we live on. I cannot imagine a more perfect fit for the surfaces of my creations than the natural environment.
My pieces are made slowly and deliberately. Each item is designed and handmade by me. It usually takes me 4-6 weeks to complete a medium-sized kiln load of work. If you are interested in staying informed about where I will be selling in-person, you can find that out when you receive my newsletter. I look forward to connecting with you.
My shop got busy at the end of 2022 and most of my work found a new home, so I have returned to my studio to make more for the 2023 year. Currently, I am getting into my studio as much as possible, making more to display at Durango Sustainable Goods, for my website, and to sell at markets this summer and the following winter. I will restock and open my online shop after I unload a few kiln loads and will announce when that happens in an upcoming newsletter.
